India at Terror seige, yet again....

Mumbai the financial hub of India is yet again the terror siege, and its not exactly a specific city any longer, the year 2008 was the black year where India was the victim of bombs and grenades at every nook and corner. Once again speculation starts on who is to blame, who should rescue, media hits frenzy, however we always miss the moot point.

India has been under attack for a decades, sometimes its low intensity, some time its cross border, the methods has changed, weapons evolved but India still refuses to declare itself as a nation under attack. We still refuse to acknowledge out an out that the enemy is neighboring state and not a faraway alien. There is no reason why we still run those cross border trains, there is no logic why we discuss bi-lateral trade and export subsidies, there is no business why we talk peace when we keep getting hit in disguise of all the peace treaties. Why does India need to look at US and UN forums helplessly and cry out peace. No other country, no other nationality will come to help, it is for us to rise, It is for us to ensure a better India where our children can live free instead of cramped somewhere in bunkers. The day is not far that reality industry will see yet another boom to build bunkers for homes. Its time to take a stand that we are in state of war, its time to make some strong decision to finish the terrorism once for all. And this will not stop till we acknowledge and accept that India is under threat.

Let us first sever all business links, lets us stop the flow of man and material, and let’s do what American did to Afghanistan. Feed Jackals, keep feeding them, and when you are not looking the first thing Jackal will do is pounce on you. We all know where this animal is, we do have the means and moral to handle it, we just need the government to nod to take them hands on. It’s the leniency of our nation that each war over the years resulted in shrinking of our homeland, each peace treaty resulted in a newer LOC, each negotiation was followed by deaths of innocent people.

Sometimes I think how would have lives been during the days of world war, with the sounds of weapons and cries of battered people, or may be those were better times, It might get debatable as to what is best way to beat terrorism, does Army take a full ownership to ACT not react as always or do we need a more dynamic government, or may be a dictator.

A lesson we can learn from our dear friends in Pakistan is consistency, weather they had the democratic government, dictatorship or the military coupe, the one thing which sustained all through was terrorism against India, despite different attitude, governments and generations they have all stood up in Unison and continued attack irrespective of internal conflicts. It is amazing the country with so much disparity and instability still manages to flinch damages on us unendingly and we keep going back to them with subsidies on wheat and rice so that they live.

The Gateway of India, the monument where I have spent umpteen evening strolling around, relishing the pastries from Taj Hotels Bakery shop, will no longer invoke pleasant memories, instead will return gruesome images of this day, the Gateway which stood for a century for welcoming British Governors and witnessing last of British troops retreat has also become the grave witness of the terror walk inside our nation once again, how long run will it be this time
